Aker was an Earth God depicted as two lions seated back to back. In other instances he was depicted as a piece of land with a human or lions head at each side facing East and West.

He was the personification of the Eastern and Western Horizons which acted as an entrance and exit to the Afterlife. Due to this he was important in funerary texts and imagery[1].
