Baba was seen as a dangerous god, associated with the aggression and virility of the Pharaoh. Some believed he would murder humans so that he could feed on their entrails.

In some instances it was said his penis acted as the bolt on the doors to heaven or that it acted as the mast of the ferry into the Netherworld.

In addition to this he was believed to ward off snakes and control turbulent waters and darkness[1].
