Mentuhotep II was the 5th pharaoh of the 11th dynasty. He ruled for fifty years, in 2046 b. C. To 1995 b. C. It is very probably that he is the founder of the Middle Kingdom. His father was Intef III and his son was Mentuhotep III. He declared war to unify the two lands, deposed nomarch of Sauty (Asyut), expelled the Asian Bedouin, who tried to invade the Nile Delta, and made Uaset (Thebes) in the political capital of the kingdom. He was the first pharaoh to build a temple for himself in the Deir el-Bahari. Tho only ones Who built temples in the Deir el-Bahari, were Hatshepsut and Thutmose III (18th dynasty). His name means "Montu is satisfied".
